Saw this trailer when I went to the cinema this weekend.  It moved me.  It reminded me that the peaks I glimpse when I look back are nothing compared to what lies beyond the valley I'm crossing.

“There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”

 - CS Lewis

We’ve always defined ourselves by the ability to overcome the impossible. And we count these moments - these moments when we dared to aim higher, to break barriers, to reach for the stars, to make the unknown known - we count these moments as our proudest achievements.

But we lost all that.

And perhaps we've just forgotten that we are still pioneers.  That we've barely begun.  And that our greatest accomplishments cannot be behind us, as our destiny lies above us.

  1. What a quote! I must say that trailer was a bit Terrance Malick of him ;)

    1. It was! I like this side of him. Oh, while McConaughey isn't my favorite, the film also stars Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain (yes, very Malick of him ;)

    2. Yes, being a bit Malick-y is definitely not a bad thing, in my opinion. ;) BUT, Nolan definitely can stand on his own anyway; I am pretty sure I have enjoyed everything I have seen of his. Oooo Jessica Chastain - love her! And McConaughey has his moments. I definitely will want to be seeing this.

    3. Yes... he has his moments. But no matter what - I am super excited to see this next year!!! Might finally get Nolan some of the critical attention he deserves :)
